‘Tis the season to be bargain hunting as the Newlife Superstore announces a recession-busting cut in price on all Christmas stock*, in store from today until Christmas Eve.
Rather than a thought of dread, the charity store is bring hope to many families and spreading some festive cheer by lowering the cost of Christmas items to just 49p - the lowest price ever - to ensure that every home can get into the Christmas spirit.
Customers on the hunt for a bargain have long been visiting the superstore in Hemlock Way, Cannock, for clothing and home wear essentials, but with harder times the store has noted a record number of shoppers through the doors in the past two months.
From Monday 1 December, the Government cut back Value Added Tax 2.5% in a bid to help more people and provide a boost to the economy. Newlife has taken the decision to go further and cut some lines of children’s clothing and underwear prices, bringing them down to 49p to ease the pressure at this crucial time.
This is not the first time that the superstore has slashed prices, this time last year Newlife’s Superstore was selling Christmas trees for just £1, however fighting the current economic climate, they decided to go one better this year with Christmas stock reduced to just 49p. Newlife’s CEO, Mrs Sheila Brown, OBE commented: “We felt that times are hard enough at the moment for people, and with Christmas, there is always an additional pressure. Despite a small tax reduction, we wanted to give something back to our customers by lightening the load. Customers travel to Newlife from all over the UK, so with even more discounts, we are confident that everyone will be able to pick up an excellent bargain.”
Proceeds from the Newlife Superstore are used to fund essential equipment for families and disabled children in the West Midlands area and the rest of the country, so Christmas shopping at the store really is a giving occasion in more ways than one.
