Action to help disabled and terminally ill children in the UK.

Providing equipment to help individual children, nurse led support services,
pioneering medical research, awareness and campaigning.

Disabled children's charity seeks nimble fingers!

September 2008

Are you nifty with a needle?

Do you have some time to give to help disabled children?

Can you organise a group “sew-in”?

If the answer to any of the above questions is ‘YES’, then leading Disabled Children’s Charity Newlife Foundation would love to hear from you.

The charity has received thousands of baby grows from a leading high street retailer. These can be turned into around £50,000 which would allow the charity to buy vital equipment such as wheelchairs and pain relieving beds for disabled and terminally ill children in the UK.

How? By individuals or groups removing the brand label then re-sewing the fire label into each baby grow so that they can be sold in the Charity’s Superstore in Cannock, Staffordshire or locally.

All you need is a needle and thread; goods can be delivered and support will be given; there’s no time scale either.

Newlife has helped many children in the UK by providing more than £2 million of equipment such as wheelchairs, pain relieving beds, therapy equipment and communication aids. Newlife founder Sheila Brown says “this is a super opportunity for local people to do something practical. I am sure people will respond to this plea and help us make best use of this corporate gift, in the service of disabled and terminally ill children”

So, if you’re interested in helping, either yourself or as part of a group or organisation, please contact our fundraising office on 01543 468888. We look forward to hearing from you and the children and families you help will be forever grateful.

1. Newlife is the UK’s leading disabled children’s charity, also supporting those who are terminally ill.
2. Newlife was founded as the Birth Defects Foundation in 1991 and re-branded to become Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children in August 2008 after 17 years of success, to meet the increasing needs of disabled children.
3. Newlife Foundation is proud to be known by those we support as ‘the specialists for special children’
4. Newlife Funds :

5. Newlife recognises there are in excess of 770,000 children in the UK with significant disabilities. That’s approx 1 in 16 children. It is believed that the number of disabled children is increasing, as childhood deaths decrease in the light of the improved treatment and management of prematurity, accidents, infections, cancers and inborn conditions.
6. Newlife raises most of its funds through unique recycling operations which allows major retailers and manufacturers to donate excess stock for secure processing through its warehouse and superstore and partner recyclers.
