TEE-RRIFIC WAY TO SUPPORT DISABLED CHILDREN
Tee up your children's wardrobe at your local River Island store and help disabled children get the specialist equipment they urgently need.
This week (w/c August 8), River Island is launching the sale of new tee-shirt designs - for boys, girls and the under-fives - and 25 per cent of the retail price will be donated to Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children.
Newlife - which this autumn marks its 25th year - helps thousands of families across the UK, providing practical support to improve children's daily lives.
This initiative is supporting River Island's current donation of its bag levy profits to Newlife, which is the UK's largest charity funder of specialist equipment for children with disabilities and terminal illness. That means the ‘fantastic plastic' profit from every 5p carrier bag is helping to buy items like wheelchairs, specialist car seats and beds, communication aids, hoists and postural seating.
The tee-shirts will be on sale at selected River Island stores* across the UK and online from Monday 8 August - tagged up with the Newlife logo to remind customers how the 25 per cent donation will be spent. Girls' tee-shirts are £14, Mini girls' £8, boys' £10, Mini boys' £7.

Newlife Foundation CEO Sheila Brown added: "As local authority budget cuts continue to bite, more and more families are turning to charities like Newlife for specialist equipment which can help transform young lives. Having the national support of River Island is an enormous boost for us."
She added: "Anyone struggling to access equipment through their statutory services should call our Newlife Nurse Helpline - 0800 902 0095 (free from UK landlines and mobiles) to discuss their individual situation."
