What difference will my gift make?

Leaving a gift in your Will to Newlife ensures we can continue in our life-changing work supporting disabled children and their families to get the equipment, support and opportunities they need. We are grateful for all gifts and as little as 1% of your estate can make a real difference

  • £10,000 could provide a disabled child with an electric powered wheelchair, giving them confidence, independence and access to new opportunities
  • £2,500 could supply a family with a specialist car seat, enabling a disabled child to visit the beach for the first time
  • £200 could provide a family with specialist toys, giving the gift of play

How to leave a gift in your Will

We have teamed up with the online Wills specialist Octopus Legacy, to offer a free Will writing service to all our supporters.

In three simple steps you can write your Will and complete it online, over the phone, via video call or in person. Their service is quick, easy to use and checked by their in-house legal team. There is no obligation to leave us a a gift in your Will, but every donation is gratefully received.

A Will makes sure your loved ones are taken care of and your wishes are clear. It makes things simpler for those you leave behind at an already difficult time. If you don’t make a will, the government decides how to share out your estate and the people you care about may not benefit. You also can’t leave money to charity without a Will.

No. You don’t have to use Octopus Legacy to create your Will. You can find a list of specialist providers through the Law Society website.

There are three main types of gift which you can leave:

  • A residual gift is a percentage of all your estate (the money and property you own once all other payments, gifts or deductions have been made)
  • A Pecuniary gift is a donation of a fixed amount of money
  • A specific item of value such as possessions, property of shares

How you give and the amount you leave is entirely up to you.

We’re grateful for all gifts of any size. A gift of 1% of your estate or a small gift can make a really big difference, helping us support future generations of disabled children and their families.
