An ‘Afternoon Tea with Elvis’ was the latest fundraising initiative from a super fundraiser, Pam Ling.
The event took place on Wednesday, September 2, at the Holiday Inn located in Shepperton and raised a fantastic £1,700 for Newlife.
As a dedicated community fundraiser Pam, from Surrey, has been raising funds for Newlife for the past 17 years, hosting annual lunches and fashion shows and other events to help disabled children and their families receive the vital support and equipment they need.

Pam said: “Our afternoon began with our performer singing some music from the Rat Pack before we had our afternoon tea, followed by an hour of music from Elvis, which was just brilliant. Our Elvis impersonator took time to interact with the crowd and sing directly to people. It was lovely to see their faces light up.
“The afternoon also included a raffle and a small sale of jewellery and other brand-new items which had been donated by local businesses and hairdressers who are aware of Newlife and very supportive of the charity.
“The event was very well attended with 81 people buying ticket, so although I won’t be organising any more charity fashion shows, I am considering another event with a musical impersonator – maybe Dolly Parton!”
As well as organising fundraising events, Pam will also be holding talks about Newlife over the coming months at local churches and WI meetings.
Pam added: “I’m always happy to talk about Newlife and the work it does to help disabled children and their families receive the life changing equipment and support they need to live, grow and flourish.”
Pam’s dedication and support was praised by Newlife who gave a huge thank you for all her hard work.
Leanne Mooney, Newlife’s Community Event Fundraiser, said: ” We can’t thank Pam enough for everything she has done for the charity and for her continued dedication and support of Newlife. Because of her hard work and those who have supported her events children have received life-changing equipment that has helped them thrive.”
